Microwave Cranberry Sauce

Delicious Homemade Sauce In Minutes

8 cup (2L) casserole dish with lid

3 cups

frozen cranberries

750 mL

1 cup

granulated sugar

250 mL

1/4 cup

water

60 mL

1/4 tsp

finely grated orange zest (optional)

1 mL

In a casserole dish, combine all ingredients. Microwave, covered, on High for 6-8 minutes, stirring once halfway through the cooking period. Sauce is ready when berries have popped or can be easily popped with a spoon. Stir well, breaking all berries. Let cool to allow sauce to thicken. Makes about 2 cups (500mL).

The sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
